Christina Milian was born into a family by her parents, emigrants from Cuba. She is also a singer-songwriter, dancer, television host and writer. Currently she has made three studio albums and a compilation. In addition she has managed to have 4 singles in the Top 5 (and also 1 single with another artist in the Top 10) in the United Kingdom as well as in the rest of Europe and North America. In her role as actress starred in the 2003 film Love Do not Cost A Thing with Nick Cannon. She also appeared as singer Linda Moon in the production “Be Cool”, and appeared in 2006 in the horror film Pulse. The media has taken her public life to interesting turns linking her with Nick Cannon, Eric West and producer Dr.Dre.
Cristina was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, of Cuban parents, her father Don and her mother Carmen and their 2 young sisters, Danielle and Elizabeth. After her birth her family moved to Waldorf, Maryland, and that’s where she got involved with the entertainment career with only 4 years. Milian participated in commercials of the famous fast food chain Wendy’s and Honeycomb and led the musical Annie before moving at age 13 to Los Angeles to pursue her theatrical career; her father refused to move with the rest of her family and soon after she and her mother divorced. 2003-2005: New image and popularity
In 2003, Milian began recording the songs of what would be her second album, and the first in the United States, with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Bloodshy & amp; Avant and Cory Rooney, the album was titled It’s About Time (the title is a direct reference to the long time it took to release their first album in their country). The album came out on July 13, 2004 for sale, being very well accepted by critics, but failed when the album began to receive little commercial success when it debuted at # 21 in the UK and # 14 in the Top Billboard 200 album, sales exceeded 36,000 copies in the first weekend only. When “It’s About Time” concluded its rise with a lackluster number of only 385,000 copies sold in the United States, the album gained prominence when it was nominated for a Grammy Award as “Best Album of R & B Contemporary” in 2005. < / p>
The first single from this album was “Dip It Low” (written by the singer Teedra Moses and the producer of the Black Eyed Peas, Poli Paul) however, Milian made this song her biggest hit to date when It was named # 1 in the world’s list of dance hits (compiling data from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy and Austria) simultaneously in the most important charts of each country Milian came to take the place # 2 in the United Kingdom, # 5 in the United States, # 7 in New Zealand and in the Top 20 in Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Norway and the Netherlands. Christina Milian releases her third studio album So Amazin ‘on May 16, 2006. While Milian worked mostly with Cool & amp; Dre in most of the production of the album, the project was finalized with the additional help of Rich Harrison and production executives Jay-Z and LA Reid. The first single from the album Saywith rapper Young Jeezy was released in March 2006 with a video and single CD. The second single chosen from the album was “Gonna Tell Everybody” but Island Def Jam did not agree to record a video of this subject claiming that the appearance of Milian’s new book would be in charge of the promotion of this new single. In June of 2006 the representatives of Milian announced the separation of Milian with the record label Island Def Jam Record alleging “Creative Differences” – although the disappointing sales of their last album make believe in another factor, the album has only sold 500 & nbsp; 000 copies worldwide (100 & nbsp; 000 only in the United States).
On November 22, 2006, Milian releases her first compilation album entitled Best Of Christina Milian. The album was made under the label Universal International. Milian on MySpace said that in early 2007 she started recording her new album.
Her first and only release with Myspace Records was the single “Us Against The World” that was not very successful. The disc on which this theme was to be included, “Elope” (formerly “Dream In Color”) was not released.
She started a relationship with The Dream (producer of great hits such as “Umbrella” and “Single Ladies”) and signed for her label, Radio Killa. Many songs were leaked from those recordings, among them “Zipper” favorite of the fans. The scandalous rupture between the two ended the whole project.
A few months ago her signing was announced by Young Money Entertainment relating him as a couple with Drake and Lil ‘Wayne.
